Awesome Event - HIV & AIDS Awareness Run 2011

It was a day of fun and glamour under a canopy of azure blue sky as around 300 of participants had taken part in HIV/AIDS Awareness Run that held in Ekspo Hill , UPM on 27th March 2011.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Run is organized under HOPE project by AIESEC in UPM with the aim to raise the awareness on HIV/AIDS issue among the public . It is also an effort to eliminate stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV/AIDS .

Story Sharing by members of Pink Triangle Foundation (PTF)
Experiences Sharing by HOPE Project Interns -Alexander and Caroline that came from Germany. They had shared their experience to all the participants about workshop being conducted ,visitation to shelter home and volunteering jobs at Pink Triangle Foundation.
Furthermore, Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) and Pink Triangle Foundation (PTF), were took part in this event to educate the participants in the knowledge of creating awareness towards issues about HIV/AIDS by setting up HIV/AIDS Education Booth.
Besides that, Rumah Solehah had took part in the educational booth as well. It is the half-way home for women and children living with HIV/AIDS and also under the patronage of Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia.
Banner of thumb print that specially prepared by all the participants was also delivered to the Project Coordinator of PPIM Rumah Solehah .

1. If you are coming from North-South Expressway Southern Route:
Please take exit at Exit 210 (UPM Interchange), you will come to a traffic light. Keep going straight until you see this board.
Take the left turning. There will be another traffic light, please do take the left turning. You will then see signboard guiding you to the venue, or you can also refer to the map above 。2. If you are coming from LDP, please enter SKVE, and follow the route as mentioned at #3
3. If you are taking SKVE, do exit at Exit E26 6A (Putrajaya, Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, Serdang), and then follow the exit at Exit 3 345 (Hospital Serdang) after driving for about 15 minutes. You will then come to a traffic light, please take the left turning. And, Bukit Ekspo will be on your right!! =D

- Certificates of participation will be given to all participants .
- Merit point will be only awarded to UPM participants .
- Winners’ prizes will be awarded to the first ten places of Male Category and Female Category at the official closing ceremony.
- No prizes will be awarded to the participants in the Fun Run Category .
- Special lucky draw prizes for HIV& AIDS Awareness Run participants .

Registration Information

1. This event is designed for the whole family .
2. HIV & AIDS Awareness Run route is in campus UPM and suitable for all ages of healthy participants.
3. Categories:
a. Male 7 km
b. Female 5 km
c. Fun Run 3.5 km
4. Registration fee is RM 20 for Male and Female Categories while RM 50 for Fun Run Category (with 3 people in a package )
5. Goodies bags and the certificates will be provided to all participants .
6. Merit point will be only awarded to UPM participant .
7. All participants are requested to submit the completed registration form together with the fees before 15 March 2011 (Tuesday)
8. Participants from UPM are required to collect their T-shirt and running bibs by 21 & 22 March .Venue will be at GAZEBO (1-4 pm)
9. Non-UPM participants will be collect their T-shirt and running bibs on event day .

HIV & AIDS Awareness Run will be running concurrently with Exhibition (HIV/AIDS Education Booths ,Story Sharing , Food & Drink Booths , Games) and Stage Performance
